Joe Labianca is the Berthiaume Chaired Professor of Leadership at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts Amherst. His research focuses on workplace social networks, conflict and negotiation, organization design, and innovation.

He is recognized for foundational leadership in building the social networks community, including serving as a founder and outgoing president of the Social Network Society and helping launch the early gatherings of network scholars at ION. Nominators highlighted his sustained field-building contributions through community-building, leadership, and extensive doctoral advising and mentorship.
